Professor Michelino De Laurentiis, MD, PhD, is the Chair of the Department of Breast and Thoracic Oncology at the National Cancer Institute “Fondazione Pascale” in Naples, Italy. After earning his medical degree in 1989 and completing a clinical fellowship at the University of Naples ‘Federico II,’ he worked as a research fellow in Texas, focusing on breast cancer prognostic models. He later became an Assistant Professor and dedicated his career to breast cancer therapy and research. Prof. De Laurentiis has held multiple academic roles, including Affiliate Professor at Temple University and coordinator of a doctorate in Clinical and Translational Oncology. A member of ASCO, ESMO, and AIOM, he has led numerous clinical trials, authored over 270 peer-reviewed papers, and specializes in breast cancer treatment and predictive factors.
